Workspaces

ESENPT

The list of the Workspaces of your account, with the state of each one, and the place to create a new one.

What it is

A Workspace is a group of domains. This screen lists the Workspaces of your account and tells you, for each one, how many domains it has and how they are doing. It is in the account menu: Account → Workspaces.

From here you create a Workspace and open one. Renaming or deleting a Workspace is not done on this screen.

What it is for

  • Keep each client apart. You organize domains by client, project or team, and each group has its own domains, activity and health.
  • See where the trouble is. One line per Workspace tells you whether something needs your attention, without opening them one by one.
  • Know what is protected. For each Workspace you see how many of its domains are under continuous stabilization.
  • Get to work fast. One click takes you into the Workspace.

How it works

  • A Workspace belongs to a client. When you create a Workspace, a client with the same name is created with it. You find it in Account → Clients.
  • Names are unique within your account. Two names that differ only in capital letters, spaces or symbols count as the same name. A name can have up to 100 characters.
  • The state of a Workspace is the state of its domains. It is the same rule used in the rest of the console: first what was lost, then what still needs work, and only when there is neither, nothing pending.
  • The list follows your access. The Owner sees every Workspace. A member limited to certain Workspaces sees only those.
  • Creating depends on the role. The Owner can always create a Workspace; other roles, only if their role includes it.

What you see on screen

  • New workspace. The button at the top right. It opens the window to create a Workspace.
  • Two totals. Total workspaces and Total domains, counting the Workspaces in your list. They appear once you have at least one Workspace.
  • A notice with the button Add first domain. It only appears when none of your Workspaces has a domain yet.
  • The list, one row per Workspace, oldest first. Its columns:
  • Name. The name of the Workspace.
  • Domains. How many domains it has.
  • Status. One mark with the state of its domains. Red, with a number: domains where something that was protected has been lost. Orange, with a number: domains that still need work, either under continuous stabilization with medium or high risk, or without it and with an analysis that is low, old or missing. Green, Nothing pending: neither of the two. A Workspace without domains shows Empty. A second, grey mark may appear next to it with the number of domains whose verification is not in force.
  • Continuous stabilization. How many domains of the Workspace are under continuous stabilization, out of its total.
  • Created. The date the Workspace was created.
  • Action. The Open button.

If you have no Workspace yet, the list is replaced by the New workspace button.

How to…

Create a Workspace

  1. Open Account → Workspaces.
  2. Press New workspace. The window Create Workspace opens.
  3. Type the name in Name. The name of the client or of the project is a good choice.
  4. Press Create, or Cancel to leave without creating anything.

The Workspace is created and you are taken into it, ready to add its domains.

Open a Workspace

  1. Find the Workspace in the list.
  2. Press Open, or click anywhere on its row.

Add the first domain

  1. If the notice saying that your Workspaces have no domains is showing, press Add first domain. It takes you into the first Workspace of the list.
  2. To use another Workspace, open that one from the list instead.
  3. Add the domain inside the Workspace.

Find the Workspaces that need attention

  1. Look at the column Status.
  2. Start with the Workspaces with a red mark: something that was protected has been lost there.
  3. Then go to the ones with an orange mark: they still have work to do.
  4. Open the Workspace to see which domains they are.

If you get stuck

A message says the Workspace could not be created

The window closes and the message We could not create the Workspace. Please try again. appears. There are three usual causes:

  • The name is already in use in your account. Names that differ only in capital letters, spaces or symbols count as the same. Use a different name.
  • The name has more than 100 characters. Shorten it.
  • Your role does not include creating Workspaces. Ask the account Owner to create it or to change your role.

Press New workspace again and retry.

The create button is greyed out

The name is empty. Type at least one character in Name.

The status and continuous stabilization columns are blank

Both columns are filled with the summary of the account, which is requested when the screen opens. If it cannot be loaded, the columns stay blank; the screen does not make up a state. Reload the page. If they are still blank and you are not the Owner, your role may not include the dashboards: ask the Owner to check it.

A Workspace without domains always has the Continuous stabilization column blank: there is nothing to count.

A Workspace is not in the list

Your access is limited to certain Workspaces and that one is not among them. Ask the account Owner to give you access to it. See Team.

A Workspace says nothing is pending but you expected a warning

The mark looks only at two things: whether something protected was lost, and whether a domain still needs work. Domains whose verification is not in force are counted separately, in the grey mark. Open the Workspace to see each domain.
